Clinical Assistant

At Matheson Optometrists we employ several Optical Assistants. Those that have undergone our clinical assistant training are able to perform non-contact tonometry, retinal photography, visual field examination, blood pressure analysis, contrast sensitivity testing among other tests. The clinical assistant is an integral part of our clinical team.

The training to provide these functions is extensive and they are not entrusted to provide such functions until they can perform them to a level equal to that performed by an optometrist doing the same task. This is possible due to the rigerois training given and the quality of the equipment we use.
