Matheson Optometrists in Hampshire work closely with ophthalmology
in the area and in America. It is natural that there is overlap
between these two eyecare professions.
In Hampshire, we co-manage glaucoma patients for local hospital,
reducing the strain on one of the busiest hospital departments so
that highly skilled ophthalmology collegues can devote their time
and skills to those more complicated cases often requiring surgical
intervention.
We are also part of the Portsmouth hospitals Diabetic reporting
Scheme. This has been in place for several years now and has improved
the standard of coordinated diabetic care in the area massively.
