Dr Sudi Patel

Dr Sudi Patel is the Optometric Adviser for Practitioner Services in Scotland. This post was created to provide technical advice on the development of a new ophthalmic payments system and clinical input to the monitoring and investigation activities of Practitioner Services, including clinical examination of patients.

Educated to PhD level, a Fellow and examiner for the College of Optometrists, Dr Patel has worked within the Ophthalmic profession for over 20 years mostly in Scotland. He has authored over 85 research papers on eye related topics. He has been Head of Optometry at City Hospital, Birmingham and Senior Lecturer in Optometry at Glasgow Caledonian University. He was the first optometrist appointed Visiting Professor, ivision of Ophthalmology, University Miguel Hernandez de Elche, Spain.
