Matheson Optometrists in Hampshire work closely with ophthalmology. It is natural that there is overlap between these two eyecare professions.

In Hampshire, we co-manage glaucoma patients andvisually impaired patients for local hospitals, reducing the strain on one of the busiest hospital departments so that highly skilled ophthalmology collegues can devote their time and skills to those more complicated cases often requiring surgical intervention.

We are able to perform nhs low vision assessments and provide free "loan" low vision aides to suitable patients
from the Denmead, Purbrook and Petersfield practices.

We also take referrals from local GPs for Red Eye, flashes and floaters, high pressures etc as part of the PEARS and PEARS plus hospital based schemes.

We have no financial ties with any surgeons or clinics. This means we provide unbiased advice as to the most appropiate procedure, weighing up the relative risks and benefits to each patient case.
